Teeth whitening?

My teeth are not very white. They aren%26#039;t unhealthy but I would really like my teeth to be whiter. I have been using colgate advanced whitening ever since I can remember but my teeth haven%26#039;t changed. Are there any ways to whiten teeth without going to a dentist and without getting things like pearl drops, my mum doesn%26#039;t agree.

Teeth whitening?
Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here%26#039;s something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Reply:The best and safest way to whiten your teeth is to go to the dentist. Whitening agents are bleaches that if not used correctly or used over a too long period of time can erode and harm the enamel on your teeth.

My dentist tells me that perfectly white teeth are not natural and that our teeth naturally yellow with age. Professional whitening is a bit expensive but safest. Also, if you have any tooth-colored fillings or bondings, these will not be affected by the whitening process and you may end up with multi-shaded teeth or need to have these redone at additional expense.
Reply:I also want whiter teeth - pure vanity! I have tried everything with not much success. My dentist said that you should not use abrasive %26#039;toothpastes%26#039; as they %26#039;roughen%26#039; the enamel and make staining worse. I did visit the hygenist and she was very helpful and made a good job of getting my teeth clean. If you can do this on a regular basis it would probably help and you would also get some sensible advice. If you google %26#039;whitening teeth%26#039; there are many products available without going to the dentist, but a trip to the hygenist might be the best option before spending your money.
Reply:We would all love to have those little white %26#039;Pearlie%26#039;s%26#039; gleaming from our mouth wouldn%26#039;t we?

I think that you will find that %26#039;white%26#039; teeth aren%26#039;t healthy teeth! I don%26#039;t mean that they should be black - but not white, either!

In my experience, the only people that have white teeth are people that aren%26#039;t showing real teeth - they are either dentures or caps. Also, they do not look natural and everyone can see that your teeth aren%26#039;t your own. The only people that I know that go for this in a big way are Americans who not only want white teeth but also want straight teeth - and wear a brace at a ridiculous age to straighten them. And the easier option to gain all of that would be to have all their teeth taken out and dentures put in.

Do you really want to look as though you are wearing dentures?

Keep your teeth healthy. Brush at least twice a day and use floss between your teeth. This way your breath will be fresh.

Do you really think that people are going to notice your teeth that much if they look natural? What they will notice is if they are unnaturally white - and who looks the fool then? Do you really want people asking if your teeth are real?

I have a friend who had porcelain caps on her front teeth - and would you believe it? You know the ultra violet light in disco%26#039;s? Her teeth literally glow in the dark!
Reply:Why doesnt your mother agree for pearl drops?

I htink you should buy some special teethpaste which makes your teeth whiter. I use Pearl Drops toothpolish shine and it is really good! :)
Reply:I use and electric toothbrush with regular toothpaste. It works wonders!

You will have whiter teeth in about 2 weeks.

Every once in a a while I use some hydrogon peroxide for a real deep cleaning. about 4 times a year.
Reply:As long as your teeth are healthy that is all that matters. Film stars and celebraties are always whitening thier teeth. Have you ever seen what they do to their teeth. It%26#039;s terrible. You look after those strong teeth of yours and visit your dentist regularly, it will pay huge dividends. I should think if your teeth are healthy and you visit regularly you will never have to have anything done. Trust me. Keep smiling.

Reply:i use crest white strips with listerine whitening mouth wash and colgate whitening toothpaste and it hasnt been that long but theres definitely a difference.
Reply:yes there are ways to whiten teeth even in the privacy of your home. i am using Maximum Teeth Whitening and it worked wonders for me for i have restored my white teeth that i had decades ago in just a matter of time. and this is safe and effective for it did not cause my teeth and gums any harm.

Teeth Whitening? im guilty...i love to drink coffee, tea, and dark sodas....

from that..i have stained teeth.

on the MSN homepage...they were mentioning something about teeth whitening...and i read the article and it said that Peroxide is what is used to whiten teeth !

So my question is...

Could I use regular peroxide on my toothbrush or something? Or do I have to dilute it...and if I much?

What are the negative effects of using perioxide....because they did say that it DOES NOT cause tooth enamel could be wrong with it?

Teeth Whitening?
You can, my mom does it and her teeth are freakishly white. You don%26#039;t put peroxide on your toothbrush, you dilute about a cap full with some warm water and use it like mouth wash. It won%26#039;t hurt you, won%26#039;t do anything but whiten your teeth.
Reply:regular peroxide can kill gum tissue which means you lose all your teeth, tooth whiteners will damage the enamel of your teeth, the best way is laser treatments by the dentist.
Reply:Do not Put anything on your Teeth other than ADA Approved Products!

Teeth Whitening Kits are not expensive (Rembrandt 2Hour Whitening costs around $19.00Bucks)
Reply:always prudent to ask a dentist first.

But staining has more to do with tarter.

best to brush meticulously and chew gum after drinking blackened liquids in the meantime before asking a dentist.
Reply:the best thing for teeth whitening that helps and doesn%26#039;t hurt your teeth like bleach is a really good electronic toothbruth like by sonicare......they will run near $100 but are well worth it for the health of your mouth and you can tell a huge difference in whitening.
Reply:please brush once a week

Teeth whitening?

Well i just bought teeth whitening strips and they are the ones from crest, do this brand actually work.

What would be the best brand or is there a better way to whiten my teeth. I want it to be white fast but i realize it takes time. You can tell me as much as you know about teeth whitening to me if you want

Teeth whitening?
I don%26#039;t like those Crest strips personally.

I love Rembrandt %26quot;2 Hour Whitening Kit.%26quot;

Its pretty cool, because you can form the teeth trays to your own mouth and you don%26#039;t have to worry so much, unlike the strips.

Its about $20 but I always get it cheap at Target Greatland.

Also, I love to brush my teeth with Rembrandt %26quot;Intense Stain%26quot; in the morning and use Crest %26quot;Vivid White Night%26quot; when I go to sleep.
Reply:go to the dentist and have them bleached
Reply:The crest white strips might work a little. the best way is to get it done professionally. If u want it fast, go the new ZOOM whitening. Takes 1 hour in the dental office and u can go up to 4 shades whiter. Great results but expensive. Depends where u live, but here in Toronto, Canada it varies anywhere from $600 -- $900.00 Its worth it!

Good luck
Reply:I LOVE Crest Night Effects...I didn%26#039;t have much luck with the strips. I would just get mad at them and pull them off.

Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitener that works while you sleep, so it fits conveniently into your schedule. You%26#039;ll have a whiter smile without giving up valuable time during your busy day. The competitive daytime paint-on teeth whitener is water-soluble so it may dissolve quickly. Normal daytime activities such as eating and drinking — even your own saliva — can wash most of the whitener away in as little as five minutes. So while you%26#039;re waiting for the ordinary daytime whitener to dry, your already-too-busy schedule has just gotten crazier.

Using Crest Night Effects is as easy as getting ready for bed and going to sleep. Just brush your teeth as you normally would.

I saw a difference within days....Its a two week thing just like everything else but within 2 weeks your teeth are so white. People were always asking if I got them bleached...or saying that I had the whitest teeth they had seen.

Here is some information about them from the site...

Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitening system. You%26#039;ll get a noticeably whiter smile while you sleep over 14 nights.* It even works on tough, everyday stains, including coffee and tobacco. Why is Crest Night Effects so effective at teeth whitening? The secret is our patented LiquidStrip Technology™ coating that stays on your teeth overnight. It whitens teeth at home, while you sleep.

The Color of Your Teeth

When you look at your teeth, the color you see is more than just the color of the surface. Because the top enamel layer is translucent, the color beneath is also visible. And since the things we eat and drink contain coloring agents that actually soak into our teeth, the layer beneath the surface of the enamel becomes stained, too. Juice, coffee, tar and tobacco for those who smoke, all contribute to making your teeth look yellow and dingy.

Teeth Whitening Dilemmas

Teeth whitening toothpastes and products only clean the surface of your teeth and don%26#039;t have any way to actually whiten the stains below the surface of the enamel. Special whitening systems are available to penetrate the enamel — including paint-on systems. Many of these are water-soluble, though, and mostly dissolve away in as little as five minutes when they come into contact with saliva.

The Crest Night Effects Difference

Crest Night Effects%26#039; unique gel forms a LiquidStrip™ coating. The water-resistant coating holds the teeth whitening agent in place, slowly releasing hydrogen peroxide while you sleep. The LiquidStrip coating works to remove stains and loosen stain-causing buildup. In the morning, just brush the LiquidStrip coating and the stains away. After just two nights of using Crest Night Effects, you%26#039;ll notice a clean, smooth feeling on the surface of your teeth.

How to Use Crest Night Effects

For the best effect, apply Crest Night Effects immediately before going to sleep. Don%26#039;t forget to review our important tips for maximum benefit.

Do not apply multiple coats of the teeth whitening gel. Reapplication may remove the previous layer.

As you brush it on, you may find that Crest Night Effects does not form a complete or even coating on your teeth. This will not affect the whitening result.

You will know Crest Night Effects is working because you can feel the LiquidStrip coating on your teeth right after you apply until you brush it away in the morning.

You can sip water while wearing Crest Night Effects. We recommend that you do not eat or smoke while Night Effects products are applied to your teeth.

You may find that wiping your teeth with a tissue before brushing in the morning will help prevent the LiquidStrip coating from accumulating on your toothbrush.

Most people find keeping their mouth open for about 30 seconds helps the LiquidStrip coating set.

Good Luck!

Reply:For the best white go to your dentist and have them make whitening trays. I just had some made 2 weeks ago and they work great!. For me it costed $160, but it was well worth it. The whitening strips only keep your teeth white for a few months, whereas whitening from the dentist is stronger, making your teeth much whiter than what the strips can. The white will last even 8 or more years. Its definitely worth it and in the long run will save you money if you pay $40 every few months for strips.

Teeth Whitening??

I got my braces off like a month or two ago and my teethe haven%26#039;t ever been yellow but they were like really white before i got them on. So i want to whiten my teeth. What kind of teeth whitening products do you use? I%26#039;ve been using Crest whitening expressions, floss, Listerine mouth wash, and crest whitening strips daily renual after every meal. Is this good or should i be using different products and what kind of products do you use?

Teeth Whitening??
I recently got my braces off also. After I brush my teeth at night, I put some baking soda on my toothbrush and brush my teeth with that. It really works! And it works faster than any whitening strips, mouth wash, or floss I%26#039;ve heard of. Now I get complimented on my teeth all the time.
Reply:Use Crest Teeth Whitening toothpaste also Crest has teeth whitening strips :]
Reply:Find one in the drugstore that is from a good well-known company. You can probably trust their reputation.
Reply:Well..those are all good products. But they could take about 3 months to show that it is working. What I think you should do, is get them professionaly whitened. I called two dentists about this, the price is around 270-300 dollars. Its a lot but it is worth it!
Reply:try using baking soda with your regular toothpaste, it works really good and fast
Reply:U should use the whitning strips my dentist told me it works just like those expensive whiting jobs
Reply:Whitening strips work pretty well, but they aren%26#039;t good for the enamel of your teeth. Use a regular whitening toothpaste but brush really well. Spend 3 minutes and brush them well inside and out. Stay away from coffee and tea. It sucks - I had the same problem and I am a tea fanatic =).

Also, ask your parents about bleaching them (they do this at the dentists, but it depends how old you are). Hopefully your teeth will get whiter!

Good luck!
Reply:Using to much stuff after every mealy can get rid of enamel and really mess up your teeth brushing flossing and white strips worked for me... muoth wash just makes your breath better.. it soendt help whiten
Reply:Mix baking soda and vinegar and use the paste to brush your teeth.
Reply:well, im taking my braces off in 2 months and my dentist told me that shes gonne do a cleaning and a whitening so i think that you should go to your dentist. and the cret whitening strips work, but they dammage your teeth
Reply:if you want to have noticeable white smile, you need to use a good and quality teeth whitener that provides professional white teeth results in just minimum time which is safe, effective, easy to use and affordable. but be sure to maintain good oral hygiene like proper brushing and flossing. visit this site for more tips on how to get whiter teeth.

Teeth whitening???

My teeth are stained and they are yellow. I am currently using a teeth whitening toothpaste called Colgate whitening with micro buffers to polish the teeth. How long will it take to see results and what elses can I do to have white teeth? I dont wan%26#039;t to use any teeth whiteners/gels thingies, though. All answers will be greatfully appreaciated. Thanx! xx

Teeth whitening???
Teeth contain pigment just like your skin and hair. How much pigment your teeth have determines how dark they are.

There are TWO kinds of stain:

1) INTRINSIC, means the stain is actually IN the enamel and dentin and requires a BLEACH to lighten it. Common sources are our own natural pigment, certain pharmaceuticals like iron supplements and tetracycline, long-term use of tobacco products.

2) EXTRINSIC, means the stain is only on the surface of the enamel and can be removed with a good toothpaste or dental cleaning. Common sources are plaque, tartar, tea, coffee, red wine, cola products and tobacco.

So you see, if your stain is INTRINSIC, you will require a bleach. To determine what kind of stain you have, see your hygienist.

If you try to remove intrinsic stain with a cleanser or brushing harder, you will only succeed in wearing your teeth out. On the same note, you cannot bleach extrinsic stain! It requires a cleanser.

To provide the very best care for your teeth, consult with your hygienist. You could be spared a lot of grief if all you need is a good professional dental cleaning. Have her teach you how to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy all of the time.

Yes you are right, you shouldn%26#039;t use baking soda too much on your teeth. why not check some of these other remedies:

Reply:One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations.

Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels.

Teeth whitening????

So I would like to get my teeth a little whiter....ever since I got my braces off the second time, they never really came out that white. Everytime I go to get my teeth cleaned they get clean, but not any whiter.

I don%26#039;t want to go to the dentist to get them whitened bc it%26#039;s cosmetic, expensive, and not covered by our insurance....and my mom would have to pay for it. I brush my teeth like twice a day, and whenever else they need to, so it%26#039;s not b/c I dont brush my teeth. It%26#039;s just the fact that I had my braces on twice and the second time I got them off they just did not come out as clean as before. I%26#039;ve tried multiple whitening toothpastes...and I know crest white strips work b/c i have tried those before also.

So what I was wondering was:

a) Is there a good whitening toothpaste out there that you have used and personally seen your teeth get whiter?

b)Any other product that is not too expensive that I can buy at the store.(Cheaper than crest white strips or off brand)

Teeth whitening????
Some toothpastes claim to whiten teeth. There%26#039;s nothing wrong with using whitening toothpastes as long as they also contain fluoride and ingredients that fight plaque and tartar. Log on to http://tipsfromruby-teethcare.blogspot.c... tips to have sparkle on your teeth and keep them in good.
